HELLO
A modern Church reaching communities for Christ
We are a warm, friendly, welcoming community Church with people of all ages and backgrounds based in the heart of Birkenhead.
The heartbeat of our church is that we love God and Love people and live to make a difference in our community by sharing the love of Jesus in both word and action. We are a church where people matter, and lives are changed.
We want you to know that in Liberty Church everyone is welcome, because nobody is perfect, and anything is possible! Wherever you’re from we’d love to hear from you and help you get connected.
We base our beliefs on the Holy Bible, which we believe to be the divine word of God. We trust the Bible to guide our daily lives, teaching us how to live the way Christ wants us to and to help us learn about Him.
WHO WE ARE
- Authenticity – We believe God has called each of us be authentic and real in our faith. Acknowledging that none of us are perfect but we are all working to strengthen our faith and actions.
- Relationship – People are important to God; and important to us. We recognise the importance and value of relationships and strive to build friendships with every person who walks through our doors.
- Community – We are a community driven church and God has placed us in the heart of our community, to reach all with the love, compassion and power of the gospel.
OUR DNA
Our Church Values
One of the driving forces behind Jesus and his ministry was his compassion and
love for people. In Matthew 9:36 we read when Jesus saw the multitudes of
people coming to him he was “moved with compassion.” The love and
compassion that Jesus felt toward people moved him to act. It was not obligation
that motivated Jesus it was love. We desire that same heart here at Liberty
Church. We want our actions to be motivated by love and compassion for each
other and for others.
In our communication and interactions with each other and with others, we aim
to show complete respect. We understand that not everyone will agree with our
views and opinions. With this in mind, we aim to be respectful in our presentation
of what we believe about truth. 1 Peter 3:15 rightly reminds us to, ‘Always be
prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the
hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.’
As a Pentecostal Church, we affirm the need to be filled and empowered by the
Holy Spirit. We also affirm the need to empower and encourage one another in
the faith. We believe that every person has the potential to be all that God has
created him or her to be. We seek to empower you, encourage you and equip
you in all that God has placed in you to use for his glory. Our passion is to lift you
up and in turn for you to lift others up.
The love and compassion of Jesus often expressed itself through serving others.
There is a beautiful story in the bible that shows us Jesus serving his disciples by
washing their feet. The disciples are astonished that the messiah, the King of
Kings, would stoop down and take the position of a slave and servant. In this
passage and well-known story, Jesus is teaching them a lesson about serving
others. If Jesus, the son of God, the Lord of all, was willing to wash someone’s
feet, then we can do the same. Although, I am sure that God is not calling us to
wash people’s feet at every opportunity, I am confident that he is calling us to
serve people. In doing so, we show the love of Jesus. At Liberty Church, we love
to serve God and serve each other.
“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, the son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all I have commanded.
Matthew chapter 28:19-20
OUR MISSION
Our mission is God’s missions. Jesus gave us this mission and assignment over 2,000 years ago and it has not changed! Our passion, desire and goal is to obey Jesus in the commission he has given to us.
To make disciples, that make disciples, who make more disciples
